Our team puts lots of heart into creating beautiful arrangements that we really hope you love as much as we love making them for you! We're often asked how we come up with our designs, so we thought it would be fun to share some of the behind-the-scenes work we do with you all. When creating our daily arrangements we look for inspiration everywhere to keep our color palettes, flower varieties, and design fresh and (of course!) gorgeous. We get inspiration from just about everywhere - from fashion, movies, art, and nature.
This past weekend, we were driving through the California Delta and were excited to stumble onto endless fields of safflower. Safflower is one of humanity's oldest crops, and it's most commonly grown for its oil. It has a delicate orange and yellow blossom with thistle-like leaves.
We've also been feasting on strawberries from local farms like Tomatero - they're so ripe and delicious right now, we can't get enough! We were inspired by the bright burst of red along with dark green leaves and light green stems, and thought these colors match perfectly with the safflower for a super-Summery arrangement.
This week, we're featuring the safflower along with sweet avalanche roses, blush calla lilies and tulips, pink scabiosa, and wild jasmine. For our larger sizes and vases, we're also using hypericum berries, raspberries and white ball dahlias.
This week we've chosen to go for a Marie Antoinette movie / poolside vibe that's feeling especially summery. It has us jonesin' for an umbrella drink beachside, and hope it brings a smile to your face! We're designing with pink scabiosa, blue delphinium, love-in-the-mist, candy avalanche roses, pink tulips, and blush calla lilies - which we think are picture perfect for bright, breezy summer days.
