Merry In Moab

High desert holiday, anyone?

While some prefer the fuzzy fingers of Frasier firs to make December more merry, we can’t help but love this little cactus’s out-of-the-box take on a “tree”. But it just wouldn’t be Christmas without a tiny bit of tradition, so we gave this little guy a string of brightly colored felt garland and his very own felt star to help our favorite, festive fellow maximize his (and yours!) cheer factor.

Details, Details, Details

  • “Merry in Moab” is a living six (6) inch cactus. Measurement refers to the diameter of the soil in which the plant lives - actual cactus stands between 8” and 12” in height.
  • Cactus ships in a decorative, two-tone cylinder vessel we’ve included in the shipment.
  • Shipment also includes an ornament kit that comes with a strand of felt garland and a yellow “tree” topper.

How Do We Ship It?

  • Your new holiday plant pal comes rolled in bubble wrap, sturdy butcher paper and is boxed for safe transit to you or your recipient in the lower 48.* Watch out! Take care when unboxing and unwrapping your cactus. Loose spines and the cactus itself can be pokey!
  • Vessel comes enclosed in a custom Farmgirl printed cotton drawstring bag.
  • Garland and tree topper come enclosed separately (boxed or bagged) for protection in transit.
  • Shipment includes a care card with all of Farmgirl’s top tips and tricks for cactus care.

Care 101

  • Cacti prefer medium to bright indirect light. Place within a few feet of a window with southern exposure for best results! Please note! Cacti can thrive in direct light but must be acclimated. If moved into direct sun too quickly they can develop sunburn.
  • Choose a watering schedule that allows the soil to dry out completely in between waterings. The frequency will depend on the time of year and whether your cactus is in an active growth schedule. We recommend starting with once a week (or even once every two weeks) and using your finger to test the dampness of soil each time before watering again. Wait a few days before adding more water if the dirt is damp to the touch!
  • Pokes happen! Pro Tip: to remove any small spines, we recommend using a bit of packing tape to gently pat the area. This is especially helpful with the smaller, more microscopic spines that are hard to see with the naked eye. And, of course, take care when moving or watering your cactus to avoid the spikes in the first place!

The Fine Print

Pictures shown are a recent example of an actual olive tree that we sent out to a customer just like you! Please note that substitutions may be made for the plant variety or vessel in the event they become unavailable after purchase, but we do guarantee that your specific plant will be fresh, beautiful and that you or your recipient will love it!
