For the month of November, we’re proud to dedicate our With Heart campaign to the Black Sanctuary Gardens (BSG) Project. Launched in 2018, the Black Sanctuary Gardens Project creates visually inspired, productive, and culturally grounded gardens that serve as restorative spaces for Black Women and their communities in and around Oakland, California to rest, heal, gather, connect, and be nourished.
Inspired in part by Alice Walker’s naming of the garden as a site for Black women’s spirituality, creativity and artistic work, these spaces are developed in collaboration with Black women with the goal of celebrating and supporting them in creating the conditions necessary for their healing and well-being, particularly as they continue to do the work in their communities to create the spaces and stories that they envision.
We’re proud to partner with the Black Sanctuary Gardens Project to support their efforts to define, uphold, and celebrate spaces of respite and beauty within the community while honoring Black women’s birthright to be in relationship with the land and to enjoy the beauty of outdoor spaces.
$10 of your purchase of this bouquet will go directly to BSG as they continue to collaborate with Black communities to create beautiful garden spaces that serve as sanctuaries that feed the soul.
