Haymaker

• What flowers are in Haymaker? Haymaker is a farm fresh bouquet featuring Oregon or New Jersey eight ball and pom pom dahlias, coxcomb celosia, and rosehips, plus a flourish of foliage. Expect a palette of light to dark pinks, peaches, and oranges. Mother Nature forever has veto power, so the colors and textures *will* vary from what's photographed.
• What are rosehips? Rosehips are the round fruit a rose plant produces after its petals fall. They're glossy, firm, and long-lasting, adding a berry-like pop of color and texture to fall bouquets. They're our favorite example of a flower that saves the best for last.
• Are the rosehip stems prickly? Yes, rosehip stems may have thorns, so handle them by the hips or wear gloves when you trim. 
• What do ball and pom pom dahlias look like right out of the box? Ball and pom pom dahlias ship slightly closed so they survive the trip, and they need a day in water to rehydrate. After a fresh trim and a clean vase, they'll round out into the tidy spheres in the photos. Patience is the key!
• What size vase is best for this dahlia bouquet? We recommend a vase about 7-8" tall with a 4" opening. If you don't have something like that on hand, add one on above or at checkout!
• Is this dahlia bouquet safe for pets? Not entirely. The ASPCA lists dahlias as mildly toxic to cats and dogs, so keep Haymaker out of reach or behind a closed door.
• Is this a good bouquet to send somewhere really hot? Dahlias are more heat-sensitive than most flowers, even when they're picked fresh, precooled, and packed for the trip. If your recipient's area is having a heat wave, consider a hardier bouquet.
