Alright - confession time. While I’m (obviously) a flower person, I’ve just never really been able to get behind gerbera daisies. It’s hard to tell what bothers me more - their oversized heads and stiff stems make them kind of unwieldy to design with or their, and this might be an understatement, aggressive brightness. They come in colors that would look great inside of a Crayola box - but in a vase? I’ll save the day glow for another day. But times - for so many reasons - are changing.
I posted a picture a few weeks ago from a flower farm that we work with. As I was driving off the property I saw a mound of gerbera daisies, towering somewhere near eight feet, that were destined for the compost heap. In the early wake of this pandemic the flowers had gone unpurchased and had bloomed beyond the point of being able to be sold. We’ve been working tirelessly since that point to help ensure that not only Farmgirl, but as many of our farm partners as possible, can find a way to the other side of this crisis. And today that way looks a little brighter than we’re used to. We’re working with that very same farm from the photo to put together an extra special (and some may say aggressively bright) grower’s box of gerbera daisies in shades of hot pink, fiery orange and surface-of-the-sun yellow. And while it’s not exactly a color combo I can get behind, I can definitely throw my support behind this farm and all the incredible farms that have worked to grow the flowers we design to send to all of you. Because, at least if we have anything to do with it, we prefer our farm fresh flowers in a vase, not the compost heap.

The Fine Print
Pictures shown are recent examples of an actual arrangement that we designed and later sent out to a customer just like you! Please note that while we don’t guarantee what the flower varieties or colors will be, we do guarantee that your specific arrangement will be fresh, beautiful, and that your recipient will love it! Due to unforeseen circumstances, in some cases we may need to substitute the vessel paired with this product. In these instances, we will replace the vase shown with another that is both appropriately sized for this arrangement and of equal or greater value than the original vessel.
