What should I expect when I'm expecting this red peony bouquet? Red-Handed: 30 Peonies is a bouquet of thirty red Chilean peonies. Each peony opens into a showy, ruffled flower, so the bouquet will get much bigger once it blossoms! It's right-sized for arranging into multiple vases to scatter around your home or a big anniversary or milestone event bouquet. Want a little less? Red-Handed also comes in two other sizes: 20 peonies and 10 peonies.

What color are the peonies in this bouquet? Red-Handed peonies come in a range of reds, from orange-red to dark red with a touch of pink and even deep burgundy. Please scroll through the photos in the carousel to get an idea of some (but not all) of the possible colors! FYI – If an exact shade match of red is critical, we recommend shopping at an in-person florist with the item(s) you're trying to match.

What are Chilean peonies? Chilean peonies are peonies grown in Chile, where the growing season runs opposite North America's, which means they're available in late fall and early winter instead of spring.

Will my peonies arrive open? No. We ship peonies as budded as possible (think lollipops) to protect the petals in transit and maximize vase life at home with you or your recipient. Once they're cut and in water, peonies usually open within a day or two, so if you're ordering for a special event, we recommend choosing a delivery date a couple of days before the big day.
- What's the deal with peony foliage? Peonies ship best with their foliage intact, but it may look and/or feel dry to the touch upon arrival. Don't fret! Simply remove any fatigued foliage and pop your stems in a vase. Pro tip: Thirsty leaves can rob blossoms of H2O they need to pop, so if your buds aren't blooming 2-3 days after delivery, it's best to remove any remaining foliage, give your stems a fresh trim, and replace the vase water with warm (not hot) water. Repeat if needed!
-
How long do peonies last? Although vase life depends on variety and care, on average, peonies typically last about three to five days once they've started to blossom. Heat is the enemy of vase life for all flowers (but especially peonies), so do your best to keep peonies away from real and artificial sources of heat like bright windows, heater vents, stovetops, fireplaces, etc.

Does this peony bouquet come with a vase? No. Red-Handed: 30 Peonies ships as a bouquet without a vase, so please add one above or choose something from your collection at home. We like something 8-9" tall with about a 5" wide opening OR dividing the stems up among a few smaller vases.
-
Are peonies safe for pets? No. According to the ASPCA, peonies are toxic to cats and dogs, so keep your bouquet somewhere paws can't reach.
