What should I expect when I’m expecting Fall Guy with Peonies? Fall Guy with Peonies is a burlap-wrapped fall bouquet of thirty-plus flowers, including four Chilean peonies in orange-y red, red, burgundy, or dark pink, plus roses, chrysanthemums, lisianthus, alstroemeria, amaranth, and textural fall-feeling “bits.” The palette is mauves, mustards, burgundies, golds, and rusts. Every bouquet is hand-tied and wrapped in a decorative and protective layer of fresh foliage and our signature burlap. Mother Nature picks the exact peony shade, so yours may lean a little warmer or a little moodier than the photos.
-
How is Fall Guy with Peonies different from the original Fall Guy? Fall Guy with Peonies is the same burlap-wrapped fall bouquet designed by Farmgirl founder and CEO Christina Stembel, with four Chilean peonies added. Think of it as the original in the Big Love size, but with a couple less mums and a plus-one who really knows how to make an entrance. Prefer yours peony-free? The original comes in Just Right, Big Love and Fancy Pants sizes.

Can you get peonies in the fall? Yes. The peonies in Fall Guy with Peonies are grown in Chile, where peony season falls during the Southern Hemisphere’s spring, which lines up with fall in the US. So while most Northern Hemisphere peony bouquets disappear after June, these show up right on time for sweater weather and Thanksgiving centerpieces. Want yours already in a vase? Meet Yam Session, our Chilean peony and rose fall arrangement. Once they’re home, here’s how to care for peonies.

How did Christina Stembel design Fall Guy with Peonies? Fall is Christina’s favorite season, thanks to all the seasonal, textural flowers and “bits” like explosion grass, wheat, and echinacea pods. She started this design with a handful of those fall bits, added a few of her favorite mauve and earth-tone roses, and sprinkled in chrysanthemums. Then she did what any of us would do when peonies turn up in fall and tucked four in!
-
How does Fall Guy with Peonies ship? Fall Guy with Peonies ships hand-tied, wrapped in paper and burlap, finished with a ribbon, and zip-tied inside a Farmgirl-branded shipping box. As soon as possible after delivery, unbox the bouquet, remove all the wrapping, and give the stems a quick trim before popping them into a vase from your private collection. Psst: don’t forget to release the twine holding the design in place! The peonies may arrive as tight buds. That’s on purpose, and they’ll open over the next few days.
-
Are any of the flowers in Fall Guy with Peonies edible? No. Some of the “bits” may look snackable, but please feast with your eyes only. Edible flowers are specially grown, handled, and labeled for sale, and they aren’t used in this ornamental-use-only bouquet.
-
What should I do if my chrysanthemums arrive with nets? Gently remove the nets after you’ve styled the bouquet in a vase. Some of the chrysanthemums in Fall Guy with Peonies may arrive wearing a protective net cover. We’ve got a care tip (or ten!) for making the most of your burlap-wrapped bouquet right here.
The Farmgirl Flowers promise: While working with Mother Nature means we can’t guarantee that the flower varieties and colors will be exactly as stated (or pictured!), we can guarantee that we always ship the highest quality stems we can source from our growers and that your arrangement will be fresh, beautiful, and that you (or your recipient) will love it!
