Christina's Favorite Brands to Gift for the 2024 Holiday Season

Hey there,

Gather 'round, friends, because today I’m spilling the tea (isn’t that what the kids say?) on the gifts I’ve been sending and receiving (from myself!) in case you need a little inspiration of your own. I love to share my favorites, especially when they’re from small and/or female founded and/or female run companies (which some of these are!) as I believe that voting with our dollars is the very best way to make an actual impact. I know first-hand how much it means personally, and to our entire team, when you all choose to vote with your dollars at Farmgirl and always like to pay it forward. And if you have suggestions for us, please share below so we can vote with our dollars there as well!

Eberjey Loungewear

Let’s start with the ultimate in cozy. My entire post-work wardrobe is now Eberjey. Honestly, I probably should have just invested in the company given how much I’ve spent on their site—but let’s be real, I’d be far less happy. So, instead, I’ll keep “investing” by snagging just about every new product they launch. And if any of my BFFs are reading this before Christmas… well, act surprised. Let’s just say matching holiday PJs for the whole family weren’t quite enough, so I may have added at least a dozen other gifts to my cart this season. My all-time favorite? the Gisele TENCEL™ Modal Everyday Straight Leg Pant and Gisele TENCEL™ Modal Everyday T-Shirt, but their Reversible Plush set? It’s giving my go-to a serious run for its money. Once you slip into these buttery-soft, ridiculously cozy pieces, you’ll never want to take them off. They’re like a hug from your bestie—but better, because you can binge-watch your shows (or spreadsheets) in them without judgment.

The RealReal

Here’s a little secret (or maybe it’s not given that I talk about it all. the. time.) – 90% of my non-lounge wardrobe comes from TheRealReal, and that’s no exaggeration. This luxury consignment site is a goldmine for designer finds at incredible prices. It’s sustainable shopping at its finest, giving pre-loved fashion a second life while keeping your closet absolutely fabulous. And literally every time someone sorta-stalks me to find out where that amazing blazer or top is from that I was wearing in insert-the-blank video or event, it’s undoubtedly from the Real Real. Also, I’m incredibly devoted to them not only because they allow me to splurge in ways I absolutely could not afford to do if buying new, but also because the Founder and former CEO, Julie Wainwright, is a bit of a personal hero to me, starting the company when she was in her 50’s after an incredible professional and personal journey that is so inspiring, and now even has a newer startup that she launched last year in her 60’s, so it’s a no-brainer that I want to support her with my dollars.

Victoria Beckham Makeup and Skincare

When it comes to makeup and skincare, Victoria Beckham’s line is at the top of my list. My current must-haves? The oh-so luxurious Augustinus Bader Cell Rejuvenating Priming Moisturizer that leaves your skin glowing and the Lid Lustre in the shade Mink is hand’s down the best eyeshadow I’ve ever used. It’s the perfect touch of glam, even if you’re just pairing it with a James Perse tee and Moussy ripped jeans (aka my CEO-off-duty uniform).

Negative Underwear

Comfort meets style with Negative Underwear. I’m obsessed with their Sieve Demi Bra and the Whipped Boyfriend Tee (which I own every color and so hope they make more!). They’re so comfortable it feels like you’re walking down the street naked – but in a good way! You’ll never look at basics the same again.

North Avalon Rugs

BEST. RUGS. EVER. Seriously, I bought a double pallet of these beauts and put them everywhere! They’re stylish, super durable, and come at unbelievable prices. It’s a game-changer for anyone who wants their space to look amazing without the high maintenance. I have at least one in every room of my house! Sure, rugs might not be the perfect gift for everyone, but they’ve brought me so much joy, so I’m just giving you a little nudge to maybe treat yourself to one of these gems. You won’t regret it!

Kinto Bud Vases

Of course, I couldn’t leave out a floral favorite. Kinto bud vases, the LUNA Vase in particular, are scattered all over my house. These minimalist vases are perfect for showcasing single stems or small arrangements, adding a touch of elegance to any corner of your home. You may have seen this in one of our past Instagram lives!

L.L.Bean’s Boat and Tote Bags & Flannels

I can’t get enough of LL Bean’s Boat and Tote bags – in every size! These durable and versatile bags are perfect for everything from grocery runs to beach trips. And don’t forget their flannel quarter zips, which I have at least five of (and I might have a problem, because I just ordered another one!). They’re my favorite thing to pop on in the morning when going out to water the garden in the morning (in the summer), or cozy up in on a chilly fall or winter evening!

PJ Society

True story - for the first 12 years of Farmgirl’s life I lived in a one bedroom apartment in the Bay Area, so I basically lived like a college student, which was great because when you’re working crazy long hours, you don’t really have much use (or even desire) for home niceties. A comfy bed for those few precious hours of sleep, and an ice cold fridge for all those Diet Cokes consumed were the only things needed to meet my basic needs. But fast forward to a couple years later, I now finally have a little more space and time to spread out and add some non-work fun things to my daily calendar - like decorating my home (which also doubles as a photo studio for many of the lifestyle shots you see on the site!). And PJ Society has come in clutch (am I aging myself here?) with the prettiest pillows and blankets that make me feel so put together.

Bauble Bar

I have three (very cute!) teen and pre-teen nieces to shop for this year, and I’ll admit, I’m usually that aunt—the one handing out Stockpile gift cards with a cheerful, “Trust me, you’ll thank me in ten years!” (Spoiler: they’re not exactly impressed… yet.) But this year, I decided to step up my game and go for some instant gratification instead. Enter: personalized pieces from Bauble Bar, which I’m pretty sure just might finally earn me cool aunt status!

Sugar Paper LA

I used to be SO good at sending hand-written cards but I have to admit, in the last few years, that skill has fallen by the wayside a bit (okay, a lot!). I’m committed to trying to improve this in 2025, so I’m stocking back up with my favorite Sugar Paper LA stationary to help me hit the ground running with absolutely beautiful note cards. I can’t recommend them enough (and I’m not just saying that because I consider the founders friends of mine) and know first-hand what incredible women they are!

Oofos

While I LOVE Christmas, and gift giving is one of my love languages, I actually prefer giving gifts more at other times throughout the year. I guess I’m a practical gifter and when I find something that I know someone would like, or that would help them, I tend to send them random packages at weird times whenever I find said gift. That recently happened with Oofos recovery shoes. I wish I could say that a team member introduced me to them because I was training for a marathon like she and her husband are, but truth be told, I just have bad feet from standing on concrete for so many years making flower arrangements. ;) It’s quite a sight at the end of product development days here at Farmgirl, when you can often find me and some of our team members laying on the floor with our feet propped up on a wall. Or at least you could before she introduced me to Oofos, and now I don’t need to because at the end of the day my feet feel at least 80% better than they used to be when I’m wearing these not-so-pretty but sooooo helpful clogs. I love them so much, I went on a bit of a gift rampage sending them to everyone I know who is on their feet a lot including both my mom and my boyfriend’s mother!

Muck Boots

To stay on a shoe trend, this year I have finally discovered Muck boots. Every flower farmer friend I know has a pair, and I now understand why. Their Muckster II boots  are the perfect garden, farm, slosh through the mud puddles, all of the above boots) that actually keep your feet 100% dry and warm. They run a little large so my favorite thing to do is pair them with these Smartwool socks and you’re set no matter how cold the temps go. I’m gifting these to a few people on my list this year so I can convert them to the dry side as well.

Convivial’s Minimal Collection

Last but certainly not least, Convivial’s minimal collection is a favorite for its effortless style and minimalist vibe it adds to my kitchen and tablescapes. Simple, elegant, and oh-so-chic, these pieces look good without even trying – just like we all aspire to be (amiright or amiright?!). I literally eat everything in their pasta bowl which makes it so easy not to spill on the couch.

Flower Seeds For The Dreamiest D.I.Y. Garden

I used to have a goal every year of learning one new thing. Since starting Farmgirl, that goal kind of went out the window, as I learn something new almost daily it seems, but this year I really wanted to learn something new that wasn’t how to create a new kind of financial model or how to navigate this new legal challenge, or whatever other fire needed to be put out at Farmgirl requiring a speed session on learning to do so. So this year, I decided I was going to learn how to grow an epic garden. And by “epic”, I mean one that will look amazing in press pictures, and also create the ambiance for an amazing dinner for Team Farmgirl at our end of Summer in-person retreat. So, still kind of Farmgirl related, but all of those late nights in the garden felt anything but obligatory, and truly brought me more joy than I thought possible. And, these companies are a few of the ones that helped me be able to turn a blank canvas into what has felt like a little secret garden in my corner of the world: Eden Brother’s, Johnny’s Selected Seeds, Annie’s Annuals, David Austin and Week’s Roses. Also, I love sending my Mom David Austin Roses from our online flower shop, but sending her the plants themselves may have won me the favorite daughter status for at least a week!

So there you have it! My current favorite brands to shop just in time for the holidays! Whether you’re treating yourself or picking out the perfect gift for your faves, you really can’t go wrong with any of these. Happy shopping, and don’t forget to share your favorites with us on Instagram by tagging @farmgirlflowers or #FGFLove. I can’t wait to see what you love most!

xx,
Christina
